Multiple Pathways to Graduation Site Tour, Part II:
Portland, Oregon

On Tuesday and Wednesday, May 10-11, 2011, the Youth Transition Funders Group and Grantmakers for Education are partnering to host our second Multiple Pathways to Graduation site visit.  This time we'll visit Portland, Oregon.  Grantmakers will have an opportunity to learn about some of the most innovative programs developed by schools in partnership with community-based organizations to keep youth on track to high school graduation and postsecondary success.

Highlights include:
  • A site visit to Gateway to College at Portland Community College  
  • Discussions with leaders from Portland Public Schools about early warning indicators for off-track youth  
  • A behind-the-scenes look at the success of Self-Enhancement, Inc. and its emerging partnership with Portland Public Schools  
  • An update on the progress and challenges of Portland's Connected by 25 Initiative, including its strategic programs for homeless and court-involved youth.

The cost of the site visit to Portland, Oregon is $395.
